Button Bouquets

All button bouquets are handmade by Kate at Daisy Blue Buttons using a combination of new and vintage buttons alongside brooches, beads, felt and bits of jewellery and pretty much anything you can think of. All button bouquets are fully wired and finished to a high standard.

Kate began her love affair with button bouquets a few years ago when her daughter was getting married. They had seen a button bouquet when looking for ideas for an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding. However the cost was too high, and frankly, Kate thought she could do better. With a strong creative streak she spent hours creating her daughters wedding button bouquet. Constantly adding jewels, trinkets, buttons, brooches and other flourishes until she created a button bouquet that would capture the attention of all the wedding guests.

That first button bouquet took many, many hours, but once she had made one she just couldn’t stop. Kate made button bouquets for all the bridesmaids, buttonholes for the Groom and his groomsmen and corsages for the ladies, and still she couldn’t stop…………so her new business was born.

Since then Kate has expanded her range to include button bouquets, brooch bouquets, mixed silk flower and button bouquets as well as buttonholes, corsages and tiaras.

All the button bouquets can be customised and Kate is constantly sourcing unique vintage buttons and brooches to use in her button bouquet designs. Kate also offers a bespoke service, working alongside brides from the very start , from selecting a colour scheme to picking out those special finishing touch buttons or brooches. Creating a truly stunning piece perfect for their wedding That can be kept as a memento of their special day.

Something Blue

Something Blue

No one remembers seeing a traditional wedding without having seen the bride carrying a wedding bouquet. Virtually every bride walks down the aisle with some kind of bouquet, whether she knows about the history behind the tradition or not. Some believe the tradition was insinuated by the Romans, while many others believe the Greeks were pioneers of wedding bouquets.

Apparently in Victorian times, single women often made button bracelets. They added buttons until they had 999 buttons on their bracelet. When they got married, the groom added the last button so the bracelet would have 1,000 buttons.

Today’s brides want to experiment and showcase originality in their weddings. Modern day brides are bold and outgoing and want their weddings to be nothing like people have seen before……..this is where button bouquets come into the picture!

The unique and individual nature of the vintage buttons, brooches and jewellery used in button bouquets means every button bouquet is one of a kind! Your very own sentimental brooches, jewellery or buttons can be worked into the button bouquet, making it even more special and unique.
